Dr Anton van Dellen represented the applicant who was restored to the register with no conditions in a hearing at the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Following a criminal conviction in 2013 for a total of 40 months, the pharmacist applied for restoration to the register, providing evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).  In live evidence, the applicant specifically addressed gaps that the external evaluator had identified in the initial portfolio.  Submissions addressed separately the applicant’s ability to practise safely as a pharmacist and the wider question of whether the applicant should now be allowed to do so.  The submissions invited the panel to conclude that there had been redemption given the applicant’s acceptance of wrongdoing, the understanding of its gravity and steps taken to make amends.  The panel ordered restoration with no conditions. The applicant also instructed Oliver Mundy of FTP Support.
