Dr Anton van Dellen represented the partner of Terry Roberts, who died after being transferred from prison to hospital.
The High Court hearing before Mr Justice Choudhury considered whether the Coroner at the inquest was correct when he decided not recall witnesses after hearing evidence of an altercation between a nurse and a prison officer. Anton submitted that the failure to do so breached the common law duty of full inquiry, as well as breaching Article 2 (the right to life).
