    Nozima Rakhimjonova, Barrister

    Nozima is a graduate of the University of Westminster (Tashkent), holds LLM from Liverpool John Moores University in International Business, Corporate and Finance Law.

    Prior to joining chambers Nozima worked at Sterling Law, solicitor’s firm where she assisted in various commercial and company proceedings, independently managed Immigration Appeals and disputes. She acted as the designated assistant of the solicitor-advocate in the high-profile family proceedings (IU v OS [2020] EWFC 98). She assisted in landmark immigration cases, one of which is the Country Guidance case on Ukraine – PK and OS (basic rules of human conduct) Ukraine CG [2020] UKUT 314 (IAC). She currently is junior in the Court of Appeal proceedings in Secretary of State for the Home Department v Have Rexhaj that is listed for hearing in April 2024. She is led by Anthony Metzer KC.

    Nozima also acted as an assistant in the appeal of Valeriy Ernestovich Drelle v Service Terminal Ltd [CH-2023-000082]. The appeal on ICCJ Burton’s judgment in the case Service Terminal LLC v Drelle [2023] EWHC 506 (Ch) was heard by Mr Justice Richards on 15-16 January 2024. The High Court is to decide if unrecognised Russian judgment can form the basis for a bankruptcy petition in England and Wales.
